Europeans, Interrupted

In late January 2024, signs emerged that the British state is concerned that, if the country goes to war with Russia, our armed forces are so depleted that ordinary people would need to be conscripted as soldiers. We don’t need to discuss the background, likelihood or timeframe of this war, nor the reasons for our armed forces being in a bad state. Here, I want to discuss the immediate reaction to this story on Twitter.

Below is a typical example. There were many like this, by many different left-wingers, all equally pleased with themselves. They seemed to think they had struck gold with this take:

We had the bizarre spectacle of the Left gleefully saying that, in the event of a war and a sudden need for soldiers, right-wingers should be conscripted. Anyone foolish and backward enough to be patriotic should be punished, by being forced to put their money where their mouth is. This is bizarre for two reasons:

• it is the Left, not the Right, that has spent the last two years baying for war with Russia

• it is the Left, not the Right, that is married to the regime at home and would therefore want it to be defended

How does one begin to untangle the mish-mash of delusion, caused partly by chronic lack of self-awareness, among these leftists that would drive them to proudly post this “take”?

In their heads, right-wingers are pro-war and pro-nation, therefore can be hoist by their own petard by being conscripted into war. That is the reality inside the heads of these leftists celebrating on Twitter.

Meantime, they see themselves as the reasonable ones, the peaceful ones, the cultured and educated ones who have “read a book” and know that war is bad and patriotism is for morons because one’s homeland isn’t “the best” and one shouldn’t blindly obey authority or just believe the establishment. But this conception of themselves is more than a decade out of date. Not since Occupy in 2011 could the Left, as in the activists and media pundits (chatterati), claim with any legitimacy to be anti-war, counter-cultural, anti-corporation, anti-authority, or anti-establishment. Moreover they are fiercely patriotic - but not for a nation, instead for a way of life, a paradigm… “our democracy”.

But their conception of the Right is even more obsolete. Still now, they will bray about “freedom fries” from 2003, the idiotic jingoism of US white Christian bigots who went off to fight Saddam and Osama. What these left-wingers think about Saddam or Osama is never mentioned now, and it doesn’t need to be: they just need to be able to mock the Right for being jingoistic.

But the truth today is that it is the Left that is jingoistic, while the Right is disaffected. It is the Right who feel unwelcome and unwanted in their own nations. They have little to love. What they are inclined to defend (their nation) is denied to them (it belongs just as much to Abdul who arrived last week; you just happened to have the luck of being born here, because “your parents fucked on this rock”). Today’s right-wingers see the West as a degenerated and nihilistic society which, moreover, specifically hates them. It demonises their identity, decries everything they care about and believe in, and denies them any ownership of their nation. It lambasts them for feeling “entitled” to such mutual belonging. It promises them that, in the future, their nation will need them even less, and will please them even less, than it does today. Why would right-wingers risk life and limb for such a society, or such a future?

Properly, the Left should go to war and risk everything for today’s Western society and the future that is being promised for it. It is they who claim to love the way our society has gone, and to relish in the promise of where it is going. Drag kids? Climate lockdowns? Euthanasia in your lunch hour? Video games and drugs throughout our 70-year adolescence? All needs served, all risk prevented, all transcendence obliterated? A total vacuum of meaning? This is what the Left yearn for, and what they are being promised. In the face of that gleaming promise, they look across to the right-wingers who yearn for something else, something more meaningful, and they utterly despise us - to the point of wishing mass death upon us.

They feel contempt for dumb, animalistic right-wingers who a) want to kill b) want to get blown up, and c) being dumb and ignorant, aren’t fit for anything else.

They feel contempt for themselves, because they know they are too weak to sacrifice anything, too cowardly to risk their own safety even to defend that which they value.

They are dependent on right-wingers to do the sacrificing for them, and to protect and defend them and that which they value (luxury and safety).

At some level, they know damned well that current western society suits them far more than it suits us. Therefore, by fighting in a war on their behalf, we right-wingers would be making an utterly selfless sacrifice, getting nothing from it, protecting by it nothing that we value, and humiliating ourselves… all out of a knee-jerk instinct to defend hearth and home. They mock us for having the very instincts that they depend upon.

In conclusion, there is just no love here at all. And I think there is a hatred of life, of being, of structure and meaning. These people are hateful and destructive to an extent that our ancestors wouldn’t have thought possible.

The Left is a biospiritual cancer that has developed on the main body and now, like the scorpion astride the frog, yearns to destroy both its host and itself. It lacks the courage to destroy itself, but if it can get its host to commit suicide in war, then it too will perish.

This is an unconscious drive towards oblivion. As spiritually deformed Europeans, the gentile Left don’t want to exist. But they want their host (right-wingers) to die first, because the host reminds the parasites of how low they are.
