In the wake of Trump’s landslide victory in the 2024 US presidential election, I find myself looking back to observations we made during the covid era. Now, as then, there seem to be two rival factions at the elite level. One is:
capitalistic
mildly left-wing on social issues
America first, world policeman, Pax Americana, etc.
pro-Zionist
pro-NATO
spearheaded by Wall Street and the Pentagon
anti identity politics (except for Jews)
The other is:
technocratic
fiercely left-wing on social issues (transhumanism, transgenderism, feminism, anti-natalism, fanatically pro immigration and diversity)
globalist, with America advancing a social, cultural and economic agenda that doesn’t put America first and actually severely damages it
anti-Zionist (but certainly not anti-Semitic)
pro-NATO
spearheaded by Silicon Valley, Davos, WEF, UN, etc.
pro identity politics (possibly except for Jews)
Trump, in his first tenure, very much fitted into the first faction, although he resisted Zionist calls to go to war with Syria and was skeptical of NATO. However, perhaps partly because of his clear “America first” patriotism, he was attacked relentlessly by the US media, which since George W Bush’s time has been moving from the first to the second faction.
A second complicating factor is that, since the Ukraine war, Trump has turned against NATO and is now talking about withdrawing America from it. This would leave NATO as the toy of the second faction, but also toothless and therefore less useful for Zionist causes.
A third complicating factor is that Elon Musk was, until quite recently, more aligned with the second faction but has moved away from it, because he has become gender-critical and because it has relentlessly attacked him for being pro freedom of speech and pro-natalist. In vilifying him, the media has been aided by Zionist elements, namely the ADL, which is now Musk’s sworn enemy.
A fourth complicating factor is that Silicon Valley in general is said to be moving in a rightward direction since the insane woke excesses of the 2010s and early 2020s. Its luminaries Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos seem to have realised the direction in which the American public is inexorably going and have been preparing to shed “the woke cloak” and take on new garb to better fit the new climate, now ratified by the election.
The big question is what that new climate will be. It will not fit either of the two factions described above.
(sort of) technocratic
mildly traditionalist on most social issues, but race-blind and pro “high quality” immigration (Indian tech workers)
(sort of) globalist, but “America first”. The priority will be enriching America. In service of that, the infrastructure of globalisation will remain useful, but globalism as an ideology is dead.
officially pro-Zionist, but in practice…?
anti-NATO, anti “forever wars”, anti “US as the world policeman”
anti identity politics (except for Jews)
This mix is confusing because it really doesn’t match anything we have lived through before.
A new elite is forming. This is going to be promulgated by force throughout American society once Trump gets in, but the interesting question is why it has happened at all - ie. why was Trump allowed to win the election?
Economically speaking, America is in dire straits, because of excessive globalisation (off-shoring industry) and the indulgences of climate change and wokery - thousands upon thousands of pointless “make-work” jobs, mostly for women, that only drain and cripple companies and demoralise productive workers. I think this economic death-spiral was acknowledged by some at the elite level.
Culturally speaking, either the American public have simply been too resistant to wokery or they have been pushed in that direction in order to match this new, nascent elite. I think the truth is probably “both”. Yes, the regime wanted Trump, but I think that was because the public wanted him and it was decided that joining them would be the (infinitely) less arduous path. Wokery was going nowhere, nobody believes in climate change, nobody wants to own nothing and be unhappy, and young men without a hope of starting families are a very dangerous element for any society to have around.
Then there is the relatively simple question of America remaining a military superpower. You can’t have thousands of high-testosterone young White men being led by transgender majors. It is patently, pathetically absurd, and it has made America a laughing stock around the world.
In historical terms, the first faction was supplanted by the second faction, which then proved incompatible with human nature so it has been sabotaged and is being discarded as we speak. Money is always in control, but it has to accommodate human nature to an extent that the second faction was simply not doing. As with Weimar, it was too much too quickly, and there was the danger of, if not 1933, then dissolution into a failed state.
That threat, incidentally, still obtains in every other Western country. But for America, at least in the near future, things are looking good.
From now on, there will be less feminism, more family formation, more straight White male heroes in movies… but capitalism will be supreme, not peoplehood or identity, and the civic nationalist regime will attempt to sideline such concerns as the preserve of “weirdos”. As a result, what we are going to get will not be what we need. Remember, the 1980s were fun but they led to the 2010s, which lead to oblivion. What we have been afforded is not salvation but a very useful stop-gap.
Things are going to be better (it is going to be a fantastic time to be a young American) but, in a context of steady demographic replacement, comfort is a poisoned chalice. We are going to have more freedom of speech everywhere online and that mentality will probably seep into “IRL” as well. We must use that freedom intelligently if we are to secure the existence of our people.
Sorry, but I don't think your optimistic appraisal jives with reality. Certainly not for those of us unfortunate enough to be born British. I think Morgoth is right. The rest of the West might start to fight back, but the UK will become a woke North Korea. Compared to the other nations, there is something particularly hopeless about Britain. I don't think we are capable of liberating ourselves. We need outside intervention.
Yes, Trump's election has bought us time. I am heartend to see that so many people online (and off) recognize this situation. Will Trump turn things around? He will help. It will be up to us and others like us to forge a new way forward.
I still believe that new countries will be formed as Western countries continue to rapidly decay and eventually collapse under the weight of de facto open borders. Tech titans like Peter Thiel have explored options like creating new countries for over a decade. That some of the smartest and richest men in the room recognize what is happening is important.
What is coming will be brtual. There is no escaping that. Learn a trade, build up social networks (make true friends), gather resources, and most importantly, develop the proper mindset.
And remember: you are not alone.
